SAK YANT, A SANCTIFIED ART FORM
An art form deep-rooted from Thailand religious history packed with symbolism and intention used for spiritual experience and connect cultures. Beautifully intricate consisting sacred designs of animals, deities and geometric patterns with a mixture of Hinduism and Buddhism with Khmer and Sanskrit writings, Sak Yants are one of the most striking forms of body art in the world.
Engraved into the skin by a traditional khem sak (a long tattoo stylus resembling an arrow), no machines are used to create a Sak Yant design. Just as each person is different, there are different types of Sak Yant designs, each with its own unique meaning.
